Supporting European Union and South East Asia ICT strategic partnership and policy dialogue: Connecting ICT EU-SEA Research, Development and Innovation Knowledge Networks

The 30-month project will contribute to the creation of strategic synergies in the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) research, development and innovation between the EU and SEA and also between SEA countries.  The activities include the transfer of experiences and cross-fertilisation in order to leverage synergies between the countries involved and lay the foundations for strategic partnerships with sustainable impacts.

Partnering with Ideal-ist

In April 2014 representatives of CONNECT2SEA  and Ideal-ist signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a partnership.

Ideal-ist is an international ICT network  with more than 70 partners from EU and non-EU countries, from Associated States, Eastern European Partner Countries (EEPC) and Mediterranean Partner Countries (MPC) and emerging countries like China, Brazil, India, and South Africa.  The ICT NCP Network - active since 1996!   Ideal-ist website here.

Memorandum of Understanding between CONNECT2SEA and Asia-Pacific Advanced Network (APAN) signed

CONNECT2SEA signed a Memorandum of Understanding with APAN, which aims at strengthening the collaboration and ICT partnerships throughout the two networks, and at enhancing the access to the ICT programmes, research projects and events, both in the Asia Pacific region and the European Union.

Young researchers form ASEAN, esp.  in the area of Information and Communication Technologies are invited to submit abstracts by the 29th of February 2016.



EU-ASEAN CIO Forum: “Building the Digital Platform – Exchanging on ASEAN and EU Best Practices and Fostering toward Enhanced Collaboration”

Several Chief Information Officers, ICT experts and policy makers from ASEAN and EU organisations will share challenges, experiences and good practices on the role of Chief Information Officer in making use of digital platforms and maximizing their use, among other subjects in the ASEAN CIO Forum.

European Union - South East Asia Big Data Summit in Cyberjaya Malaysia on 5th & 6th May 2016

International collaboration in Big Data is needed to address questions that deal with global challenges. The Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) together with CONNECT2SEA will organize EU-SEA Big Data Summit on 5-6 May 2016 at Cyberjaya, Malaysia. Networking activities, dialogues to discuss strategies, opportunities, challenges,  and more will take place in this summit.
