The Information Technology Institute (ITI), one of the national scientific research and technological development institutions in Vietnam higher education system, was established in 2001 on the basis of upgrading the Vietnam Information Technology Training Institute (VITTI) and has become a Prime Ministry Level Research Institute. Since 2009, ITI is in charge of the first graduate degree in "Information System Management". ITI has four main strategic activities: Basic Research in IT, ICT R&D, ICT project consultancy for government agencies and enterprises and ICT professional skill training. Its mandates covers also Experiment manufacture; scientific and technology services in stabilizing technical infrastructure; operating and managing VNUnet. At present, the Institute has set up cooperative links with prestigious institutions in China, Belgium, France, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, USA.
Role in the project: Methodology refining and preparation of background documents, call for proposals to reinforce links between EU and SEA ICT networks/clusters and their organisations, design and implementation of horizontal pilot actions related to ICT policy dialogue support and dissemination.
