Special session within WIRN 2015: Computational Intelligence Method for Biomedical ICT in Neutrological Diseases

The session included different oral presentations with invited talks and a panel session, that was attended by many researchers outside the project. The panel session has focused on the use of ICT for health and well-being, thus illustrating how the development of ICT-based systems can reduce the expenditure of sanitary systems, can allow the monitoring of patients in isles, rural areas and difficult context areas like big cities, and, finally, can improve the quality of life of a large number of people.

Event Grant: Workshop "The role of partner support in mobile‐phone based (mHealth) interventions for chronic disease management – Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus"

This workshop brought together 9 participants, from Germany, South East Asia and the USA, who are interested in developing proposals and expanding research on the use of mHealth in managing chronic diseases. It was held on 28th and 29th November 2014 at Ludwig‐Maximilians‐University in Munich, one of the organsiers being Dr. Constanze Rossmann, Research Associate, Lecturer and Professor at the University of Erfurt, also in Germany. Co-organising the event with her was Arul Chib, Director of Singapore Internet Research Centre at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

SEA - EU Workshop on ICT applications for Smart, Low Carbon Cities: EU/SEA perspectives

Organized and led by Dr Sandra Dudley of London South Bank University and Dr Shoz Komaki of UTM in Malaysia, 22 participants met over three days in November in Kuala Lumpur. During the workshop,the speakers presented and answered questions on their active areas of research, and the participants discussed strengthening and expanding the partnership between London South Bank and MJIT in Malaysia as well as the identification of commonly agreed upon international calls.

The Development of Quantum Technologies for Space Applications event, took place in Singapore in October of 2014, and was organised by Dr Daniel Oi of the University of Strathclyde and Dr Alex Ling, who is the Principal Investigator at the Centre for Quantum Technologies, National University of Singapore.
