Event Grant: Workshop "The role of partner support in mobile‐phone based (mHealth) interventions for chronic disease management – Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus"

This workshop brought together 9 participants, from Germany, South East Asia and the USA, who are interested in developing proposals and expanding research on the use of mHealth in managing chronic diseases. It was held on 28th and 29th November 2014 at Ludwig‐Maximilians‐University in Munich, one of the organsiers being Dr. Constanze Rossmann, Research Associate, Lecturer and Professor at the University of Erfurt, also in Germany. Co-organising the event with her was Arul Chib, Director of Singapore Internet Research Centre at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

Event Grant: SeMIPRo Spanish Malaysian IoT Platform

The SeMIPRo initiative is in charge of the establishment of two reference points for IoT researchers and innovative companies to place contacts for R&D and commercial collaboration. The kickoff meeting included a presentation by each entity, elaboration on the dissemination of the roadmap and identifying IoT collaboration opportunities based on the partners’ profiles.

Event Grant: Seminar on Data Analysis and Querying of Large Data Sets

Funded under Connect2SEA and in with the aim of strengthening ties between scientists regardless of geographical location or cultural difference, the “Seminar on Data Analysis and Querying of Large Data Sets” took place between 13th and 15th October in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The event was co-organised by Patrice Boursier, professor at the Université de la Rochelle, France, and Sureswaran Ramadass, professor at the International University of Malaya-Wales, Malaysia, and had 18 participants from 8 organisations.

Event Grant: Development of Quantum Technolgies for Space Technologies

The Development of Quantum Technologies for Space Applications event, took place in Singapore in October of 2014, and was organised by Dr Daniel Oi of the University of Strathclyde and Dr Alex Ling, who is the Principal Investigator at the Centre for Quantum Technologies, National University of Singapore. Dr Oi’s visit was intended to strengthen and review the already existing cooperation project between the two institutions.
